Job Details

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading UK train operator that prides itself on high technical standards, innovation, development and customer service.

Based in one of our modern maintenance facilities, you’ll manage our rolling stock production and maintenance activities. Safety and efficiency are crucial: you’ll make sure all our staff are deployed effectively and are following Health & Safety rules and regulations, Railway Group Standards and company policies and procedures. You’ll develop work plans to ensure daily production targets are met and you’ll be proactive in identifying areas for continuous improvement.

Additionally you’ll ensure staff under your control are trained and developed in accordance with company policies and standards. We expect you to have first-rate people management experience but also excellent interpersonal skills with an innate ability to build constructive relationships with people at all levels.

Ideally we’re looking for degree-educated professionals with experience in fleet and/or maintenance operations in the rail or engineering field. You’ll come with technical knowledge of traction and rolling stock and be adept at planning workloads.

What we can offer you:

  • Final salary pension
  • Free travel on GTR and sister groups
  • 75% off travel on other train operating companies
  • Benefits package
