Work experience is a great way to get an understanding of a role and see what a working day looks like and we have many programmes to choose from.

Not sure which area of our business you'd like to work in?

We open our doors for work experience every year for students in full time education between the ages of 14-18, to look for our stars of the future and this year it will be between April and August. 

We are the largest train operating company in the UK with more passengers, more people and more trains than anyone else in the country and you can come and spend a week in an area of your choice. 

Make sure you can get to your chosen location within 90 minutes at the most.


Customer Experience – 1 week programme

The Customer Experience Department champions the customer on behalf of the business and manages customer feedback received through a number of channels. It consists of five key areas: Customer Relations, Social Media, Customer Engagement, Quest Auditing and Accessibility.

Customer Relations - Manage customer contact through traditional channels (email, post, phone) and analyse data to drive business improvement.

Social Media - Manage customer contact received through our social channels.

Customer Engagement - Promote customer input to drive business improvement and run customer focussed events at our stations.

Quest Auditing - Oversee the service quality regime through the auditing of stations and trains.

Accessibility - Meet the needs of our more vulnerable customers and give them the confidence to use our network.
