Currently recruiting Competency Development Managers for Coastal & Metro Depots 

Role Purpose

Develop and maintain a highly performing, competent and customer focused team of Driving Staff through effective application of all Southern competence and policy requirements, this application should be proactive and risk-based to deliver continuous improvements in both safety and risk management outputs and train performance outputs. 

Close working and communication with the driver Line Manager is essential.

To be responsible for responding as first line on call response for operating incidents involving Southern, ensuring the safety of operational personnel and the incident, minimise delays attributable to GTR, liaising on-site with Network Rail as appropriate.  Undertake initial incident, investigations, gather appropriate evidence, initiate alcohol and drugs screening as appropriate and provide associated reports and documentation in accordance with Company Procedures and Rail Group Standards.
