Are you an experienced Train Planner looking for the next step in your Railway Career? Do you have an excellent understanding of the UK rail industry structure? Have you got a good understanding of Rail Planning techniques, tools and systems?

We are seeking experienced Short Term Train Planners (Traincrew Diagram/ Timetable & Rolling Stock) to work within our Train Planning Unit which is part of the GTR's Operational function.

In this post, you will be responsible for producing short term alterations. These will need to be compliant with industry and internal timescales in order to meet business objectives.

Key duties of the role will include:

  • Production of short term alterations in a timely manner
  • Improving utilisation and knowledge of train planning software
  • Maintaining filing systems, controlled publications and design documents
  • Monitoring reports and implementing changes/ corrective action
  • Expanding personal knowledge in order to assist with other train planning activities
  • Forming close working relationships with internal colleagues and Industry Stakeholders

The post holder must have solid experience in a similar role.

A working Knowledge of Word and Excel IT packages is essential, as well as excellent communication skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
