Are you an experienced Train Planner? Have you got a good understanding of Rail Planning techniques? Do you have excellent communication skills and a meticulous attention to detail?
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Timetable and Rolling Stock Specialist. You will be working within our Train Planning Unit which is part of the GTR's Operational function.
The post involves the construction of long term adjustments to the permanent GTR timetable. The successful candidate will work closely with Network Rail to generate compliant and efficient timetable variations whilst minimising the effect on the customer.
Key duties of the role will include:
- Utilisation and knowledge of train planning software
- Production of permanent train plans in a timely manner
- Forming close working relationships with Industry Stakeholders
- Maintain filing systems, controlled publications and design documents
- Expanding personal knowledge in order to assist with other train planning activities
- Monitoring reports and implementing changes/ corrective action
- Assisting development of IT systems relevant to train planning
The post holder must have solid experience in a similar role. You will also have a good understanding of UK rail industry structure and framework.
A working Knowledge of Word and Excel IT packages is essential.
