Description

This April, SPEAKERS for schools are breaking down barriers to booming zero-carbon industries and those committed to significantly reducing their carbon footprint with the launch of “Green Skills Week”.

Govia Thameslink would like to take this opportunity to give you an insight into the railway and share with you what we are doing in the transport industry. We have a dedicated Climate Change Taskforce who are working on several workstreams looking at Decarbonisation, Waste, Water, Air Quality and Climate Change Adaptation.

Within these workstreams some of the areas we are currently focussing on include reducing waste and improving our recycling rates, real time information on utility usage and increasing the number of Electric Vehicle charging points across our estate.

We have also partnered up with energygarden.org.uk to install solar panels on some of our larger depots, providing clean energy and supporting their work to deliver new green spaces.

If you want to hear more about our projects and see what our internal volunteers are getting up to, join us on the 6th of April from 10am till 12pm.

To join us on the 6th, more information can be found on this link: Experience > View Opportunity Details (s4snextgen.org). To register your details on the platform please use: Experience - Speakers for Schools

We look forward to e-meeting you all!
